- Parts are laser cut at our workshop in Dandenong, Melbourne, and dispatched within 5 business days, with delivery Australia-wide or pick-up in Melbourne.
- Folding and bending are available, and one-offs are welcome.
Looking for SendCutSend in Australia?
If you design parts, you've probably come across SendCutSend. It's a well-known US online laser cutting service: upload a file, get a price, and the parts turn up at your door. Plenty of Australian makers, engineers, product designers and hobbyists find it through YouTube or forums, then hit the same snag at checkout. It doesn't ship here.
This guide is for Aussies who like that way of ordering and want it locally. It covers what SendCutSend says about shipping outside North America, how Ferracut compares on things we can actually verify, and how to move your existing files over in a few minutes.
Does SendCutSend ship to Australia?
No, not at the time of writing (November 2026). On its shipping page, SendCutSend says it ships to the US and Canada, does "not ship to any other countries besides the US and Canada at this time", and "cannot make exceptions". Its terms of service also say it can only process and ship orders within the United States and Canada.
SendCutSend's policies can change, so check their site for the latest. For now, if you're in Australia and want parts delivered here, you'll need a local service.
A local alternative: Ferracut
Ferracut is an online laser cutting service based in Dandenong, in Melbourne's south-east. We built it around the same idea that makes the US services popular: no phone tag, no waiting days for an emailed quote. You upload your drawing and get a price straight away.
- Made in Australia: your parts are cut at our workshop in Dandenong, Victoria.
- Priced in AUD: you see your quote in Australian dollars, with no currency conversion to work out.
- No international shipping or customs: parts are sent domestically, so there's no overseas freight, import paperwork or customs clearance.
- Instant DXF/DWG quotes: upload your file on the instant quote page and get a price online.
- Folding and bending: need more than flat parts? We can fold and bend them too.
- Dispatched within 5 business days: orders are dispatched within 5 business days.
- One-offs welcome: a single prototype is fine. You don't need a production run.
- Pick-up or delivery: collect from our Melbourne factory or have parts delivered Australia-wide.

Materials we cut
Ferracut cuts the sheet metals most Australian projects use, including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, galvanised steel and Zincalume. Material availability and thicknesses are shown when you quote. If you're used to choosing from a very large US material list, check that your material is offered before you finalise your design. We don't offer Corten, brass, copper or tube cutting.
One thing to watch: US services often use imperial gauges, while Australian sheet is sold in metric thicknesses. If your design was drawn for a US gauge, check the nearest metric thickness using our sheet metal gauge thickness chart and adjust any tabs, slots or bend allowances to suit.
How to switch: upload your existing DXF
If you already have files you prepared for SendCutSend, you can usually use them as they are.
- Check units: make sure the drawing is at 1:1 scale. If it was drawn in inches, export it in millimetres or check that the size comes through correctly in the quote.
- Clean the geometry: close any open paths, remove duplicate lines, and delete dimensions, title blocks and notes. Our DXF and DWG file prep guide walks through this.
- Pick a metric thickness: choose the closest Australian sheet thickness and re-check any slot-and-tab fits.
- Upload and quote: drop the DXF or DWG into the instant quote tool, choose your material, quantity and any folding or bending, and see your price in AUD.
- Order and choose pick-up or delivery: we'll dispatch within 5 business days.
